I remember the day I bought my first pillow insert at Zimman's down in Lynn, Massachusetts many (many) years ago.
The sales lady there carefully explained the difference between polyester filled vs feather inserts, and steered me gently toward the down and goose feather variety.
"Because these plump perfectly!" she declared. And then abruptly made this full-body karate chop move on one of the pillows.
Though startled and vaguely terrified, I had to admit she was right. The pillow now had a perfect, deep-V crease right down the middle.
I've since learned this ninja technique actually has a name: the V-chop. And that it works best on down and feather pillows. I suggest you try this at home - but not in the office as it might scare your co-workers.
